There are many moments in life when we feel a sudden inspiration to do a
good deed, to share a kind word and to simply help someone else reach a
higher level. It is in these moments that we should be quick to follow
through with those inclinations so that our life can be used to make a
difference in someone else's life. How do other people become better?
They become better because of someone's helping hand pulling them up to a
higher level. That is in essence how we all become better. We could
never do it all on our own. We all need help in life. Whether it is
learning spiritual principles or learning a new trade, we all have areas
where we can become better than we were before. I'm sure we can each
attest to the fact that when we receive help from others our life reaches
greater heights. Realizing this truth should make us willing to help
others just as we've been helped in our own life.
By shining our light towards a lost and hurting world and showing them
that we genuinely care for their well-being we are showing them by our
acts and deeds that love and goodness abounds in this world. By shining
our light, we are helping them to shine their light and the ripple effect
that can come from that can light up the whole world. We should never
think on or believe the lie that our life is insignificant in this world.
Our life is important, it does have meaning and the gifts that each of us
possess is needed to make this world a better place. We simply must
believe in ourselves again and know that we can make a difference.
See where you can make a difference. What attributes do you possess that
others can benefit from. Are you an encourager or motivator? Do you have
wisdom and knowledge that you can impart to someone else? Are you a
teacher with special skills? Whatever your gift or talent may be you
should use it to your best ability to help someone else. The Lord Jesus
tells us to Let your light so shine before all men that they may see your
good works and Glorify your Father in Heaven. By using your life to lift
up and make better someone else's life, you will leave a legacy that will
never be erased or forgotten. (Matthew 5:16)
I hope this message inspires and challenges your heart to shine your light
in this dark world and make a difference where your light can help to
brighten someone else's light and etc. and so on.
LEAVE YOUR LIGHT ON
My blinking buddies are back for the Summer again. For several years now I
have had the pure delight of watching the fireflies gather in my backyard
at night and share their light. I enjoy standing there watching them blink
on and off as sun sets, the stars rise, and the air cools in the evening.
What I love the most is seeing a lone firefly sharing its light only to be
answered by first one and then another and another. Soon dozens are
flashing their lights on and off in perfect unison. It is then when my
whole backyard becomes a symphony of light and Earth feels a lot closer to
Heaven. It is then when I joyously remember all the light we can share too.
We all have one advantage over my blinking buddies, though. We can leave
our lights on. We can shine them in the darkest night and add light to
the sunniest day. We can light up the hearts around us with our love and
brighten every soul we meet with our happiness. We can shine our goodness,
kindness, and oneness with God so that everyone can see. And just like my
firefly friends we can help others to get their lights shining as well.
Don’t be afraid to shine your light. Don’t be afraid to leave it on even
when the world around you seems dark. Shine it brightly. Shine it
joyously. Shine it lovingly. Let it glow in oneness with God’s light as
well. Before you know it you will no longer be a lone firefly in the
darkness. Before you know it others all around you will begin to shine
their own lights as well. Before you know it you will be making this world
a better, brighter, and more beautiful place.
In this life you have two choices. You can sit in the darkness or you can
help God to light up the universe. If a few dozen lightning bugs can make
my backyard a Heavenly symphony of light then just imagine what God could
do with you. Have a bright, shining, and glorious day then and always
remember to leave your light on.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:
1 John 3:16-18 “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down
His life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But
whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and
shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of
God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in
tongue; but in deed and in truth.”
Galatians 6:2-4 “Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of
Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he
deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he
have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.”
Luke 6:37-38 Jesus says, “Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn
not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and
shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For
with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
Matthew 6:19-21 Jesus says, “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon
earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through
and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither
moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor
steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
