1103rd -- A Joyful Noise

No matter what we go through in life we should always keep the song in our
hearts singing loudly and joyfully knowing that all will be well with us.
We may go through discouraging situations, we may have setbacks, shortfalls
and failures, but still we can keep a fresh song singing within our hearts.
When we receive a negative report or news that may seem devastating, we
can still rest in the Lord knowing that He holds us securely in the palms
of His hands. We should remember God's promises that are written
throughout His Word so that when tough times come our way, we will not be
moved, we will not be shaken and we will not allow worry to take a
stronghold over our life. Having faith in the midst of the difficulty is
what will allow us to stand strong, unmoved and unshaken because the God
who created the universe and all that is within it is still in control of
all things, at all times, in all places. Our job is to believe God's Word
and rest in His Eternal promises.
(Ephesians 5:19-21) (Isaiah 26:3) (Isaiah 43:26)

Some may find it difficult to keep a song singing fresh in their hearts
when all we see are difficulties, tragedies and setbacks. My best advice
to anyone facing difficult times is that it takes the same amount of energy
to worry and fear as it does to stay in faith and have a peace filled
countenance. It is within our ability to give thanks and praise to God
even in the midst of a discouraging situation letting God knows that our
eyes of faith are focused on His sustenance and provision and we are not
focused on the temporary trial that is before us. When we acknowledge God
as our source, our Redeemer, our sustainer and provider, we are putting
our faith into action and we are also showing our obstacles that we will
not be moved no matter what may come our way. Keeping a fresh song in our
hearts even in spite of tragedy speaks volumes to the strength of God that
is within us. (Psalm 34:1-6) (Isaiah 64:8) (Galatians 3:13-14)

Be encouraged to keep your eyes of faith focused on the goodness of the
Lord. Sing with your whole heart a good and new song. Remember the many
times that God has delivered you in times past and stand strong on those
memories when difficult times come your way. Don't allow the temporary to
make you lose focus of the eternal. Stand strong, dig your heels in and
be determined to never waver, lose faith or question God's love for you.
Always remember that you are precious to the Lord and no matter the trial
that comes your way, you will come out of it better than you were before.
Keep your eyes on Him and keep a song singing in your heart.

I hope this message encourages and inspires you to believe that all things
will work together for your good. Trust that God has your best interest
in mind and have faith that all will be well for you in the end.

A JOYFUL NOISE

It has been a long time since anyone has enjoyed my singing. That is if
never can be classified as a long time. While my singing voice sounds fine
to me, to others it is no treat. I have been told it is far too high and
off key at times and that it sounds strangely soft and raspy as well. Even
my speaking voice has been likened to Winnie the Pooh with a cold.

I can remember as a boy in Church when my older brother nudged me so I
wouldn’t sing the hymns so loud. In school I was never invited to join the
choir or any band. Even when I used to sing lullabies to my children
during their baby years I would get puzzled expressions instead of sleepy
eyes. And often when I used to sing aloud in the house my dogs would join
in and howl the melody. Finally, I decided that it would be best if I only
sang aloud when I was alone.

Still I sing. When I am walking outside by myself, I sing. When I am in
the shower I belt out a tune or two. When I am driving my car and a great
song comes on the radio I join right in. Even when I am mowing the lawn in
the Summer and shoveling snow from the driveway in the Winter I find
myself pouring out all the love and joy in my soul through my voice. Even
though it may not be pleasant to others’ ears, it still brings happiness
to my heart. After all, God never asked us to make a beautiful noise, only
a joyful one.

God doesn’t care about the sound of our voices, the features of our faces,
or the cut of our clothes. God only cares about the song in our souls. I
pray then that all of you never stop singing yours. I hope that all of you
make a joyful noise all the days of your lives here. When you are too shy
to sing with your voices then sing with your hearts. Sing with your
thoughts. Sing with your feelings. Sing with your actions. Sing with your
lives. Make your every moment here a love song that delights Heaven with
its sweet music.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

James 1:2-5 “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers
temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire,
wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth
to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

Psalm 23:1-4 “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to
lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He
restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His
name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they
comfort me.”

Psalm 37:23-26 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and He
delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down:
for the LORD upholdeth him with His hand. I have been young, and now am
old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging
bread. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.”

Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun
a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
