I am a firm believer in living joyfully in every circumstance. No matter
what comes my way, I choose to see the good in it. I focus on the
blessings before me, I am thankful for all that God has graciously given
to me and I use my energy, my gifts and my talents to bless my life and
the lives of those around me. I've learned that it is better to see my
glass as half full rather than half empty. I've learned that it is better
to praise God for all that I have instead of complaining to God for the
little that I lack. We must have an appreciative spirit within ourselves
and see how blessed and fortunate we really are. Many times people lose
perspective and are quick to murmur and complain about the temporary trial
in their path. They forget all that they have to be thankful for. They
focus on the negative instead of remembering all the positives that are in
their life. They need introspection because they will soon find that the
positives in their life greatly outweigh any negatives.
If you find yourself quick to complain, I encourage you to literally count
your blessings. What do you have to be thankful for? Count them in your
mind when tough times come your way so that you will be appreciative for
your life and all that you have in it. I firmly believe a thankful heart
will be a blessed heart in any circumstance. When we are quick to give
thanks and praise to the Lord for the many blessings that He continually
and graciously gives us, then we will be filled with His Joy and Peace
that surpasses all understanding. When we can look a negative situation
straight in the eyes and still choose to be thankful, we are saying to the
Lord that we trust Him in every circumstance. That is how I have led my
life and God has been faithful every step of the way. I pray that you
will adapt and choose thankfulness over complaining and rest in His Joy,
Peace and Love that is all enveloping.
I hope this message encourages and challenges your heart to live each day
in peace and harmony. Don't allow any negatives to infiltrate your being,
but rather focus on the good that is before you and you will find yourself
filled with His peace that surpasses all understanding.
HAPPY MOMENTS
I took my sons out for a walk at a nearby lake the other day. The weather
was perfect for it. The sky was clear, the temperature was warm, the sun
was dancing off the waves, and flowers were blooming along the walk path
surrounding the water. Couples both young and old were walking along the
path enjoying all of this God given beauty. Dozens of people were fishing
peacefully along the banks and in boats. Children were running and playing
with their dogs. Families were setting up picnic dinners for later. Some
people were just sitting in the grass looking blissfully out on the water.
I even saw one young woman praying with a joyful smile on her face as she
sat under a tree. Never had I seen so many people spending their time so well.
The day after, the great teacher and writer Leo Buscaglia died; a note was
found in his typewriter. It simply said, “Every moment spent in unhappiness
is a moment of happiness lost.” I for one don’t want to lose any more
moments of happiness that I have left in this world. I want to use and
enjoy every single one of them. It doesn’t matter if they are spent
working, playing, eating, reading, singing, praying or just walking in the
sunshine. I want to spend my time well and fill my life with happy
moments. I want to choose love, share joy and be one with God all day long
every single day of my life.
Happiness isn’t something you find. Happiness is something you choose.
Happiness is something you live. Life here is both precious and brief.
Spend it well. Live it joyously. Don’t waste a second of it on unhappiness.
Go to work with a smile on your face. Greet others with love in your
heart. Exercise with pleasure. Play with delight. Pray with both peace and
joy. Learn from your pain. Grow from your troubles. And always use every
moment you are given to choose more love, joy, peace, happiness and
oneness with God.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Psalm 118:24 “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice
and be glad in it.”
Psalm 23:1-4 “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to
lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He
restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His
name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they
comfort me.”
Isaiah 41:9-10 “Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and
called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my
servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. Fear thou not; for I
am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee;
yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My
righteousness.”
Hebrews 13:5-6 “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be
content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave
thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper,
and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”
Philippians 4:8-9 “Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever
things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if
there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and
seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”
