There are many people in this world who fear what tomorrow holds. Instead
of enjoying and relishing in today, they go through their today's worried
about their tomorrow's. What they fail to realize is that tomorrow is
promised to no man. We have today to live, laugh and be merry. Whether
we choose to do so however is completely up to us. We can either use this
day to bring happiness to ourselves and to others or we can wallow in self
pity and self doubt. What we must realize is that this is a blessed day.
It is beautiful, bright and ready to be taken a hold of. Today's
possibilities are only limited by our imagination. We can share joy with
it, we can share laughter with it, we can bring encouragement, inspiration,
and blessings with it if we choose to see the beauty that today offers us.
(James 4:13-15) (Psalm 31:7-8)
No matter what you may be going through and no matter the obstacles that
are in your path, I encourage you to enjoy today to the best of your
ability. See the beauty that surrounds you by going for a walk in the
park, take in the refreshing smell of a freshly cut flower, play with your
pet, laugh with your child, eat some ice cream, do something that will
bring a smile to your face and joy to your spirit. Change your mentality
and focus on the good before you. Give thanks to God for every blessing
that He has graciously given to you and with your whole heart see how
fortunate you really are. Doing something that changes the monotony of
your normal routine will positively affect your mindset and give you
something new to focus on. (Psalm 34:1-4)
Make it a daily challenge to focus on something good before you and be
thankful for it. Be determined to enjoy today no matter how tempted you
are to worry or fear what tomorrow holds. By doing so, you will be
blessing your days and starving your doubts. Remember what Psalm 118:24
declares “This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
I hope this message inspires and challenges your heart to use all of today
to bring blessings and joy to yourself and to others.
THE END
“Do you believe that this is the end of days?” That was the question a
friend wrote me a few days ago. It is a question that I have gotten a lot
of times over the years. With all the wars, tornados, earthquakes,
tsunamis, hurricanes, fires, and nuclear meltdowns we are facing these
days, it is easy to understand why people would wonder and ask as well.
The truth is no one knows when the last days of this world will be. No one
knows when their own last day will be either. All that we can do is to
live each day we have here to the fullest with love, kindness, goodness,
joy, and oneness with God.
This is why I start each day by saying, “Good morning God, thank you for
my life!” This is why I watch every sunrise and sunset I can. This is why
I stop to smell the flowers and listen to the birds sing every Spring.
This is why I hug my grown up children every day and tell them that I love
them. This is why I always take the time to bend down and pet a dog or
cat. This is why I lend a hand to a neighbor who needs my help. This is
why I share a smile and a friendly wave with the people I pass on life’s
road. This is why I do what I can to house the homeless, feed the hungry,
and care for the sick. This is why I write my simple words and share them
with the world. I want to do all I can to show others that they can choose
life, share love, and spread joy. I want to show them that every day is
precious, that every act of kindness is priceless, and that everyone of
them is a powerful person who can make this world a better place.
None of us knows when this world will end. None of us knows when our own
lives here will end. What we do know is that we can love today. We can
learn today. We can laugh today. We can help each other today. We can
bring a little Heaven to Earth today. Live today then and when the end
does come you will be able to face God with a loving and happy heart.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Psalm 28:6-8 “Blessed be the LORD, because He hath heard the voice of my
supplications. The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in
Him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my
song will I praise Him. The LORD is their strength, and He is the saving
strength of His anointed.”
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth
us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are
in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.”
Psalm 34:1-5 “I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall
continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the
humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and
let us exalt His name together. I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and
delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto Him, and were lightened:
and their faces were not ashamed.”
Psalm 37:3-6 “Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the
land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and
He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the
LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass. And He shall bring
forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.”
