There are moments in life when we go through tough problems and we think
that God has either forgotten us or forsaken us. Neither of these two
assumptions are true because God promises that He would never leave us nor
forsake us and He says that all things will work together for good because
we both love Him and are called according to His purposes. Never get
discouraged when tough times come, but rather lift up your faith and hope
to the Lord and know that He will bring good out of every bad situation.
Continually trust the Lord and never doubt His abilities to turn your
situation around for good. (Hebrews 13:5-6) (Romans 8:28)
I hope you will be encouraged and blessed by this story that shows how God
is able to turn all things around for good even when it seems to be impossible.
THIS IS GOOD
The story is told of a king who had a close friend with whom he grew up.
The friend had a habit of looking at every situation that ever occurred in
his life (positive or negative) and remarking, "This is good!"
One day the king and his friend were on a hunting expedition. The friend
would load and prepare the guns for the king. In preparing one of the guns,
the friend had apparently done something wrong, for after taking the gun
from his friend, the king fired it and his thumb was blown off.
Examining the situation the friend remarked as usual, "This is good!" To
which the king replied, "No, this is Not good!" and proceeded to send his
friend to jail.
About a year later, the king was hunting in a dangerous area. Cannibals
captured him and took him to their village. They tied his hands, stacked
some wood, set up a stake and bound him to it. As they approached to set
fire to the wood, they noticed that the king was missing a thumb. Being
superstitious, they never ate anyone that was less than whole. So after
untying the king, they sent him on his way.
As he returned home, he was reminded of the event that had taken his thumb
and felt remorse for his treatment of his friend. He went immediately to
the jail to speak with his friend. "You were right," he said, "It was good
that my thumb was blown off." And he proceeded to tell the friend all that
had just happened. "And so I am very sorry for sending you to jail for so
long. It was bad for me to do this."
"No," his friend replied, "This is good!"
"What do you mean, 'This is good'? How could it be good that I sent my
friend to jail for a year?"
"If I had Not been in jail, I would have been with you."

God is able to bring us forth victorious even when our problems seem to be
impossible to solve. I encourage you to be confident in the Lord always and
never doubt His abilities. Even though you may go through tough times and
think there is no help; God is your helper and comforter and is well able
to deliver you from every trap of the enemy. Take refuge in His Word and
know that if God is for you, who can dare to be against you? (Romans 8:31)
Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Romans 8:35-39 "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall
tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or
peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day
long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things
we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded,
that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers,
nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any
other creature, shall be able to separate us from the Love of God, which
is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Proverbs 3:5-8 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto
thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall
direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart
from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones."
Psalm 118:4-9 "Let them now that fear the LORD say, that His mercy endureth
for ever. I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set
me in a large place. The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man
do unto me? The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore
shall I see my desire upon them that hate me. It is better to trust in the
LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than
to put confidence in princes."
