539th -- Have You Seen The Rabbit?

In order for us as believers to have an intimate relationship with God
Almighty, we must seek Him with all of our heart forsaking every other
carnal desire that tries to take us away from knowing God and His purpose
for our life. The Lord declares in Jeremiah 29:12-14 “Then shall ye call
upon Me, and ye shall go and pray unto Me, and I will hearken unto you. And
ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your
heart. And I will be found of you, saith the Lord...” The Lord wishes to
commune with us and to make it simple, He gives us the method to find Him
and receive His attention. (Hebrews 12:1-3) (Rev. 3:20) (1 Kings 19:11-12)

It is the greatest privilege to serve God and know Him above all other
things. He fills the hearts of those who seek Him with joy that is
unspeakable and a peace that surpasses all understanding. The Bible says
that in His presence is the fulness of Joy and there is no want to them
that fear Him. We shouldn't take other people's word that God is good, but
rather we are to try Him and see for ourselves that God is no respecter of
persons and He will give to us the same as He has given to countless other
believers. (1 Peter 1:8-9) (Philippians 4:6-7) (Psalm 16:11) (Psalm 34:4-9)

I hope this message encourages your heart to continually seek after God and
allow His Spirit to guide your life onto the best path as He sees fit.

HAVE YOU SEEN THE RABBIT?

One day, a young disciple of Christ desirous of wanting to become all that
God had for him visited the home of an elderly Christian. He had heard that
this old man had never lost his first love for Christ in all the years he
had known Him.

The old Christian was sitting on the porch with his dog stretched out
before him taking in a beautiful sunset. The young man posed this question:

“Why is it, brother, that most Christians zealously chase after God during
the first year or two after their conversion, but then fall into a
complacent ritual of church twice a week and end up not looking any
different than their neighbors who aren't even Christians?

I have heard you are not like that. I've been told that you have fervently
sought after God throughout your years as a Christian. People see something
in you that they don't see in most people who became Christians. What makes
you different?”

The old man smiled and replied, “Let me tell you a story: One day I was
sitting here quietly in the sun with my dog. Suddenly a large white rabbit
ran across in front of us. Well, my dog jumped up, and took off after that
big rabbit. He chased the rabbit over the hills with a passion.

Soon, other dogs joined him, attracted by his barking. What a sight it was,
as the pack of dogs ran barking across the creeks, up stony embankments and
through thickets and thorns!

Gradually, however, one by one, the other dogs dropped out of the pursuit,
discouraged by the course and frustrated by the chase. Only my dog
continued to hotly pursue the white rabbit.”

“In that story, young man, is the answer to your question.”

The young man sat in confused silence. Finally, he said, “Brother, I don't
understand. What is the connection between the rabbit chase and the quest
for God?”

“You fail to understand,” answered the well-seasoned old man, “because you
failed to ask the obvious question.

Why didn't the other dogs continue on the chase?

And the answer to that question is that they had not Seen the rabbit.

Unless you see the prey, the chase is just too difficult. You will lack the
passion and determination necessary to keep up the chase.”

Be encouraged to trust in God's Word and know that He will be with you all
the days of your life. Simply trust Him and serve Him with all of your
heart. He will never leave you lacking any good thing. (Psalm 34:10-15)

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Psalm 34:6-10 “This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him
out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them
that fear Him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the LORD is good:
blessed is the man that trusteth in Him. O fear the LORD, ye His saints:
for there is no want to them that fear Him. The young lions do lack, and
suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.”

Psalm 16:8-11 “I have set the LORD always before me: because He is at my
right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory
rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. For Thou wilt not leave my
soul in hell; neither wilt Thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in Thy presence is fulness of joy; at
Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”

Hebrews 12:1-3 “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great
a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which
doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set
before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for
the Joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and
is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him that
endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied
and faint in your minds.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
