It is important that we always have the right attitude in life. There are
many moments when we are tempted to lose our peace and murmur and complain
about all that is going wrong in our life. It is in these moments that we
must be conscious to how we react to circumstances that are trying to steal
our peace. We must be steadfast and vigilant determined to react in the
correct manner and allow ourselves to stay at peace regardless of the
wrong that is going on around us. Our attitude should be one filled with
gratitude, gratefulness, appreciation, humility and an eagerness to see
the good that tomorrow holds. Just because we are facing tough times
today does not mean our attitude should reflect those difficulties. Our
countenance can remain to show a sense of peacefulness no matter the
storms that are raging around us. We can keep our faith strong in the
Lord knowing that if He has brought us to the trial, then He will also
bring us through the trial better than we were before it. We simply must
maintain an attitude of praise in the midst of the trial and show God that
our eyes of faith are focused on Him.
Be encouraged to realize how important having the right attitude is. It is
easy to murmur and complain when tough times come our way, but I believe it
takes a real strong person to maintain their integrity, their character,
their faith and their trust in the Lord that all will turn out well. An
attitude of appreciation and expectancy for good is what will turn a bad
situation into one of being a lesson learned and being made better because
of it. We can either see our glass half-full or half-empty. It all
depends on our attitude. We can be appreciative and thankful that we will
overcome the trial before us, or we can murmur and complain about how
tired we are from going through the storm. The right attitude will make
the best from a bad situation. It will see the sun coming through even in
the midst of a cloud filled sky. The right attitude will have expectancy
that good will come our way no matter how bad our situation may look right
now. Be encouraged to adopt a positive, upbeat and faith filled attitude.
It will make your burden much lighter and your path much clearer.
I hope this message encourages and challenges your heart to see the good
even in the midst of a bad situation. Focus on your blessings and not
your challenges because when you do, you’ll see how much you have to be
thankful for.
IT'S ALL ABOUT ATTITUDE
I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock
strikes midnight. I have responsibilities to fulfill today. I am
important. My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.
1. Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or...I can be thankful
the grass is getting watered for free.
2. Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money or...I can be glad my
finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from
waste.
3. Today I can grumble about my health or...I can rejoice that I am alive.
4. Today I can lament over all my parents didn't give me when I was
growing up or...I can feel grateful they allowed me to be born.
5. Today I can cry because roses have thorns or...I can celebrate that
thorns have roses.
6. Today I can mourn my lack of friends or...I can excitedly embark upon a
quest to discover new relationships.
7. Today I can whine because I have to go to work or...I can shout for joy
because I have a job to do.
8. Today I can complain because I have to go to school or...I can eagerly
open my mind and fill it with rich new tidbits of knowledge.
9. Today I can murmur dejectedly because I have to do housework or...I can
feel honored because God has provided shelter for my mind, body and soul.
10. I get to play a big part into what kind of day I will have!

Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Proverbs 9:10-12 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the
knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For by me your days will be
multiplied, And years of life will be added to you. If you are wise, you
are wise for yourself, And if you scoff, you will bear it alone.”
Deuteronomy 30:19-20 “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against
you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing;
therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; "that
you may love the LORD your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you
may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and
that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”
Philippians 4:11-13 “Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned
in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know
how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full
and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things
through Christ who strengthens me.”
Hebrews 13:5-6 “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with
such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you
nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: 'The Lord is my helper; I will not
fear. What can man do to me?'”
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever
things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure,
whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there
is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things.”
