1382nd -- Turtles Can’t Fly

It is important that we always believe in ourselves and not doubt the gifts that have been instilled within our being. So many times because of the trials and challenges of life we begin to doubt our ability. We believe the lie that we are nothing special and that we have very little to offer this world. If we could see our life from God’s point of view we would see how special, how favored and how blessed our life is and can be. We just have to put aside the temporary discouragement and see our life from God’s viewpoint. We would then quickly see that our gifts, talents and abilities are more than sufficient for us to live a blessed and fulfilled life. When we humble ourselves before the Lord and ask for His provision and sustenance we will receive what we have asked for and more. We read this in Psalm 91:15-16 “He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and show him My salvation.” It will always be to our benefit and betterment when we call upon the Lord. He will take us farther than we thought we can ever go. He will take us higher than we ever thought we can climb and with Him by our side no trial or trouble will be able to overwhelm us or make us think of giving up. (James 4:10) (Isaiah 26:3-4)

No matter what you may be going through I encourage and challenge you to look past it. See through your eyes of faith a better future, a brighter future and a more blessed future. Create for yourself a vision board and place on it the things that you wish to have in your life. This is a biblical thing to do. The Bible declares in Habakkuk 2:2-3 “Then the Lord answered me and said: Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.” Our belief must match our confession and our confession must match our thinking. What we expect is what we will receive. What we hope for is what we will draw back to ourselves. Believe that you are worthy, speak about your blessings, think about your victories and before you know it all will come to pass. Believe the Word of the Lord and do your best to bring into reality what was once only a vision on a board. With hard work, dedication and a never give up attitude we can accomplish amazing things. (Jeremiah 33:2-3) (Psalm 103:1-5)

I hope this message inspires and challenges your heart to believe in yourself again and know that your life is meant to be significant upon this earth no matter how young or old you may be.

TURTLES CAN’T FLY

A determined little turtle once climbed a tree. He somehow made it to the first branch. Then he jumped into the air waving his front legs and crashed to the ground.

After a while he slowly climbed the tree again. And again he jumped. This time he flapped all four of his limbs, but still plummeted to the hard ground.

The persistent turtle tried again and again with the same results. A couple of birds perched on a branch nearby watched his futile efforts. One of them turned to her mate and said, “Dear, don't you think it's time to tell him he's adopted?”

There are simply some things we cannot do. Turtles can't fly.

Comedian Bob Hope once thought of pursuing a career in boxing. Later in life he quipped about it: “I ruined my hands in the ring” he said. “The referee kept stepping on them.”

Fighting is something he could not do well. But he became a great comedian.

Lots of people have ability and talent. And most people have an idea about what they think they can do. So why do some excel, but many do not?

The famous American caricaturist Al Hirschfield explained it like this: “I believe everybody is creative and everybody is talented," he said. "I just don't think that everybody is disciplined. I think that's a rare commodity.”

The secret seems to be discipline. Whatever ability we are born with is not enough. Even raw talent requires discipline to be nurtured and developed. And enough hard work and discipline can turn the most meager skill or ability into a great strength.

A man jumped into a taxi cab in New York and asked the driver, “How do I get to Yankee stadium?”

The cabbie replied, “Practice! Practice! Practice!”

He's right. And although discipline and practice may never get a turtle to actually fly, it will probably get you and me just about wherever we want to go.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Psalm 34:1-4 “I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together. I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”

Isaiah 40:28-29 “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of His understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength.”

Psalm 34:17-19 “The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.”

Psalm 23:1-4 “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
