Robert's Testimony

Hello. Before I became a Christian, I was religious, but not a true Christian. I had Christian relatives,
but that did not make me a true Christian. Praise the Lord for friends who witnessed to me (one was
a head of a medical lab and the advisor of my medical explorers group named Jerry, the other was a
Green Bay Packer, Mike McCoy), and for a godly grandmother who also witnessed to me and also
kept Bible tracts in "strategic" positions throughout her house!

On Sunday October 21, 1979, at approximately 9:00 p.m. I realized that I was a lost, hell-bound and
hell-deserving sinner (Romans 3:23 says: "For ALL have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God".
Romans 6:23a says "for the wages of sin is death (in hell). Romans 6:23b says: "but the gift of God is
eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord"), and that I needed a Savior. Praise the Lord that He cared
enough about me to bleed and die on the cross of Calvary for my sin and sins, and after 3 days and
nights He rose from the dead to give me victory over death, sin, and hell (and He did these that anyone
who will turn from sin and by Faith receive Him as Lord and Savior would be forgiven and have
everlasting life with Him in Heaven!)!

I repented of my sin, and received Him as Lord and Savior that evening. As it is written in the Gospel of
John 3 verse 16: "For God so loved the world (every man, woman, and child in this world) that He gave
His only begotten Son (Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us on the cross), that whosoever (anyone!)
believeth in Him should not perish (in hell), but have everlasting life (with Him in Heaven)". Romans 5:8
and 9 say: "But God commendeth (is always showing) His love towards us, in that, while we yet sinners,
Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His Blood, we will be saved from wrath (God's
righteous anger against sin) through Him (Jesus Christ)".

We cannot save ourselves. Ephesians 2:8 and 9 say: "For by Grace are you saved through Faith; and that
not of yourself, it is the gift of God: not of works ("good" works we might do to "earn" salvation), lest any
man should boast". Romans 10:9 says: "that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved".

I implore anyone who has not yet received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior to do so now! We have no
guarantees as to how much time we have before we pass into eternity! And if you receive Jesus Christ, be
reading your Bible everyday (start with the Epistle of I John, then go to the Gospel of John, then to where
ever the Lord may lead you), be in prayer to the Lord every day, and get involved with a good Bible
believing, preaching, and teaching church that will welcome you and help you to grow in the Lord.

God bless you!
Robert Holmberg

P.S.- I believe that God has called me to ministry and went to Bible college (I haven't been able to finish yet).
I did not get into medicine as I had planned before I was saved.
