1106th -- Message On Protecting Our Mind

It is important that we always remember and keep in mind that our body is
a vessel that is affected by what enters into it. So many times we eat
things that we know we shouldn't eat and often times we pay the price for
doing so. What we must be conscious to is that just as our body is
affected by the things that we eat, our mind is also affected by the
things that enter into it. The things we watch, the things we read and
listen to enter into our being much more than we can possibly know and
very subtly we begin to change based on those things that we've meditated
and thought upon. Whether good or bad, we become what we continually feed
upon. Just as a farmer plants seeds in the ground expecting to receive a
harvest from those seeds, we also reap the same harvest of the seeds that
we are sowing into our own life.

Planting the appropriate seeds also applies to who we associate ourselves
with. We must think about the company that we are keeping and see if
those people are making us better, if they are adding to our life, if they
are influencing us in a positive way and challenging us to reach higher
than we've ever reached before. The company we keep can also be compared
to seeds being sown. Are they encouraging and uplifting our life or are
they condemning us, judging us or questioning our motives. Just as
positive words lift up one's spirit, so do condemning or discouraging
words bring down one's spirit. There is an old quote that says “One bad
apple spoils the bunch.” This isn't just a myth, but it is a proven fact.
When an apple is infested with mold, it will contaminate other apples
within its vicinity and in turn those apples will contaminate all of the
other apples in that basket.

One bad apple does spoil a bunch and one bad influence can take our life
in a different direction unless we take appropriate action. We must be
wise enough to know that our life is much more important and valuable than
to let one bad influence affect us and take us off the right track. We
must be strong enough to let go of every bad influence and every negative
person who tries to bring us down and only hold on to those who celebrate
us, lift us up and believe in us as we should believe in ourselves. There
are far too many people who love us and who want to be in our presence, so
don't fret or worry about those who wish to bring you down. Be strong
enough to let go of the bad apples and hold on to the strong and positive
people who love you and wish for you to succeed in life.

Always remember and keep in mind that your life, your mind and your heart
is like a fertile garden and whatever seeds enters into it will take root
and bring forth the same harvest that were sown into you. Don't allow the
negativity or fear of this world to enter into your heart and change your
thinking. Believe God's Word and know that His plans for you are for good
and not for evil and they are meant to give you an expected end. The Bible
declares in 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear;
but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Think on the right
things, allow only good, positive and uplifting thoughts to enter into
your heart and surround yourself with only those who love you, celebrate
you, believe in you and lift you up. When you do you will see your life
change in the most magnificent of ways and those good seeds that you've
sown will bring forth a good harvest over your life.
(Jeremiah 29:11) (Proverbs 4:20-25) (Ephesians 4:29-30)

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Galatians 6:7-8 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man
soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of
the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the
Spirit reap life everlasting.”

Philippians 3:13-14 “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but
this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching
forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the
prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

Psalm 84:11-12 “For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give
grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk
uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in Thee.”

Proverbs 8:32-36 “Now therefore hearken unto Me, O ye children: for
blessed are they that keep My ways. Hear instruction, and be wise, and
refuse it not. Blessed is the man that heareth Me, watching daily at My
gates, waiting at the posts of My doors. For whoso findeth Me findeth
life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD. But he that sinneth against Me
wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate Me love death.”

Philippians 4:8-9 “Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever
things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if
there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen
in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
